For the first time in a LONG time, Tyler and I spent two weekends in a row in Raleigh, just us. Of course, it wasn't completely by choice, as Hurricane Irene ruined our weekend plans to visit Virginia Beach for an engagement shower for Ashley and David and to celebrate Maddox's 2nd birthday (can you believe it!?)
We decided it was a good time to make some updates around our house. We painted the breakfast nook off of our kitchen a really pretty green color. It looks great with our
fish!

For some reason, some genius decided that it was a good idea to put down carpets in our master bathroom. In fact, the two upstairs bathrooms also have carpet, but luckily it is only down by the sinks and not the bathtubs. I have been dying to pull that carpet up since we moved in for fear of mold and general nastiness. So we bought some tile and I spent some time on YouTube to figure out how to install the floors ourselves. We're really happy with the result and managed to complete the project without too many fights!!
