After a fun weekend with the Youngs, we spent Monday visiting the shops in Duck, NC and eating peel and eat shrimp and crab cakes at a restaurant on the water! Dallas and Chris had to head back up to Philly, so Tyler and I decided to drive through Nags Head so that he could see some of the more popular attractions.
We drove past the Wright Brother's Memorial and continued on to Jockey's Ridge State Park. When we arrived, I tried to figure out how we were going to get out there with Dylan. Jockey's Ridge is the tallest natural sand dune system in the Eastern United States...which is a fancy way of saying that it's basically a desert. So I put on my carrier (and Dylan's sunglasses!) since there was no way were taking a stroller through the sand.

For those of you who have visited Jockey's Ridge, you'll agree that the pictures just really don't do it justice. The hills of sand are HUGE...believe me, we climbed them. The park also offers hang gliding, kite flying, and sand boarding - maybe next time!
