There have been several parades, tree lightings, and festive events around the Raleigh area. We are really eager to spend this first holiday season as a family. We started with an evening in Mebane for the Hometown Holiday Celebration. The stores were all open late, they lit the Christmas tree, and we even saw Santa making his rounds. We spent some time at my Aunt Teresa's store,
The Curious Peddler. Her store looked
beautiful and she had some great gifts - of which, I bought a few...for ME! I got a new cashmere scarf and a handmade recycled tin Christmas ornament (AND got it signed by the artist)! We also got to visit with my cousin, Jason.

The next day, we went downtown for the annual Raleigh Christmas parade. It was a gorgeous day, so afterwards, we had lunch outside at Boylan Bridge Brewpub.
