The Wine Tour Continues

My mom and dad were in Raleigh this weekend following their trip to Austria.  After their amazing trip, we had to come up with something fun to do so they wouldn't be bored...so we went wine tasting!  Our first stop was the Benjamin Winery.  We had some really good wines and enjoyed speaking with the wine maker (who happened to be from Charlottesville).
After the tasting, we bought a bottle of their Oak Chardonnay and sat outside on the patio.
We ate lunch at the "5-star gas station" around the corner (they served sandwiches, salads, and burgers and fresh bread).  It was literally a general store that sold gas, fancier food, and groceries.  Then it was on to the next tasting at the Wolfe Winery.  The wines there were very fruity, but were still pretty good.  The owners were also very nice and welcoming.  The had been making wines their whole life and decided to open their vineyard in 2008.  My favorite was the Raspberry Wine and dark chocolate pairing!  Dylan also enjoyed his second day touring the wineries of the Haw River Valley!

  1. We have just begun our wine tour in NC. Dylan will have to learn to keep up with his parents, Nana & Papa.
