Ada Holloway Magerkurth, 1912-2015

Ada Holloway Magerkurth died on May 4, 2015 in Roanoke, VA after 102 love-filled years of life.

Mrs. Magerkurth was born on November 24, 1912 in Hebron, MD. She graduated from Salisbury State Teachers College and majored in Elementary Education. She married Charles Raymond Magerkurth in 1942 in Quantico, MD. Following the wedding, the couple lived in Newport News, eventually settling in Roanoke to raise their family.

Mrs. Magerkurth was an excellent cook and a charter-member of the Chit and Chatter card club. She took pride in being up-to-date with the current news and was a fan of the Rolling Stones! At parties, you could be sure to find her dancing with her grandchildren. In her later years people were always in awe of her spunk and vivaciousness.

Mrs. Magerkurth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Susan Magerkurth of Raleigh, NC; her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Tommy Omer of Roanoke, VA; her four grandchildren, Lindsey Cote (Tyler), Dallas Young (Chris), David Magerkurth (Ashley), and Carol Omer; and seven great-grandchildren: Dylan and Bryant Cote, Maddox, Reese, and Grayson Magerkurth; and Wyatt and August Young. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Charles; and 5 siblings.

Mrs. Magerkurth will be laid to rest at a graveside service on May 7, 2015 at 12:00 pm at the Evergreen Burial Park.
