Build a Bear and Marbles

To celebrate our birthday boy's 2nd birthday, we decided to spend a special weekend with just the 3 of us.  We started the 11th off with birthday cards and presents from grandparents...and Mickey Mouse balloons!
Waking up to presents...and lots of Mickey Mouse
On Friday night, we took Dylan to Build a Bear to make his own special stuffed animal.  Dylan is REALLY into snuggling animals, so we thought he would love this.  He picked out his own animal, filled it with stuffing, put a little heart in the bear's body, selected an outfit, and named him!  D's new bear was uniquely named, "Bear."

Then we went to dinner at the River Pub near our house where Dylan is LOVED by the entire staff.  This was the first restaurant where we took Dylan when he was a brand new baby.

On Saturday, we took Dylan to the Marbles Museum in downtown Raleigh.  The museum is filled with activities perfect to entertain any child.  Dylan had a great time...he especially loved the race car station, all of the cars that he could "drive," and the basketball hoops.

We had lunch at Boylan Bridge Brewpub.  They have a great seating area outside and Raleigh was experiencing a ridiculously beautiful 77 degree day in January.  After Dylan's nap, some of our neighbors came over to enjoy a cookout, birthday cake, and a fire pit for a sweet little birthday boy.

Everyone always says how fast time goes.  And it's true.  I can't believe my baby is already 2!
